I did a lot of my shopping at Blue Back this year. Very convenient. The Barnes and Noble is great, but I feel guilty. We usually go to Bookworm but this year we chose Barnes. Everything is in stock. Honestly, I don’t think it will still be open next Christmas. How can it possibly compete with B & N?

I wouldn’t worry about the Bookworm. From what I know and have seen and heard they had a terrific season. It seems a lot of their regular customers stuck with them instead of going to B&N. I have a feeling they will be here next Christmas and even the one after. They’ve had to deal with B&N before and they survived I see no reason why they wouldn’t again. They offer a service that isn’t found in big box stores. They recommend and offer suggestions. Having applied at a Borders for a job, I was instructed that I would not be allowed to converse with the customers about book choices. Let the customer roam and find what they think they want. Not the type of attitude I like in a store. Suggestions always make reading fun and interesting. A well-read salesperson is an asset in a place like the Bookworm. I don’t think they are in the same class to compete with each other.

This blog has become quite lame. Hardly worth visiting anymore.

Where’s Joe. The King? Crazy Judy? Kevin Sullivan seems to be gone now that he’s once again employed.

    So much for the fun.

Couldn’t agree with you more Fred.

Everyone is probably working out in hopes of grabbing a coveted “bicycle taxi” driver position.
