What exactly is your point in printing this?
Maybe you’ll be printing a picture of the rope she used to hang herself as well?

  2. I Love West Hartford

I actually appreciate you posting this. I understand that this is YOUR Blog, but I am SO SICK of the critical political BS, that I’m glad someone wants to talk about something else.

Mental illness is a horrible tragedy. Unfortunately, this happens everywhere, even “West Hartford”. My thoughts and prayers go out to those poor parents, who are grieving the loss of their son, as well as their mother (and mother in-law).

  3. WH Alum

He didn’t print anything that has not been all over the news and the Internet all evening. Just a converstaion launcher, really. Though I really feel too sad about the whole thing to comment beyond that. What an awful tragedy.

  4. Joe Visconti

My God the poor woman, her family is in my Prayers.

  5. Just another mom

Thanks for printing the transcript. I only heard about it on the radio. This is helpful.
My heart goes out to that poor family!

  6. New to town

Printing and reprinting this very, very painful and personal information doesn’t help the situation. Please keep in mind just how horrific this is for the family. To have them overexposed by the media, or this blog, seems wrong – truly. This is a private matter, one unique to their situation, and really no one elses business.

  7. Kevin Walsh

I certainly recognize that this is a horrific tragedy, and have no wish to be insensitive, but a chain of events involving two untimely deaths cannot seriously be considered a “private matter.”

Moreover, the Courant has reported that two of the family members have criticized the West Hartford Police’s handling of the investigation, and one comment – “Somebody is going to pay for this” – is a clear threat of litigation against the police, and by extension, the town.

The release of the transcript may have been in response to these comments.

  8. MARY JONES

FIRST OF ALL IF SHE WAS A CRAZY GRANDMOTHER WHY WOULD THEY LEAVE THE BABY WITH HER. SECOND OF ALL IF WHEN SHE CALLED THE COPS TO GO OVER THE HOUSE THE ONE THAT WAS TAKING THE INFORMATION DOWN SHOULD HAVE JUST SENT THE COPS OVER TO ARREST THIS STUPID ASS. THIRD OF ALL THE OLD LADY SHOULD HAVE JUST STAYED IN JAIL FOR WHAT SHE DID, INSTEAD SHE GOT LET OUT ON BOND WHAT KIND OF SHIT IS THAT!!! MY HEART & PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE PARENTS OF THIS CHILD. GOD BLESS

Mary Jones, you seem to be in the wrong place. If you take a right and plummet, you’ll find the Hartford Courant forums WHERE VICIOUS PIETY IS ALL THE RAGE.

Meanwhile Kevin Walsh could not have described the situation with any more clarity and regard for the facts. Thank you, Mr. Walsh.

  10. TWC

Careful, Turtle. Even though you’re right, experienced bloggers advise that you should never feed the trolls.

  11. Ugly and horrific. The poor mother probably had no idea that the danger was so extreme. And now both the child and grandmother are gone. West Hartford has certainly had its share of tragic and bizzare events.

  12. Mary

I don’t find any shame in printing this, why should this woman be protected just because she commited suicide? The only victim in this scenerio is that child and his parents. If someone did this to any of my children, I’d tie the noose and hang the rope for them.

  13. Mary

Oh, and in reply to “Mary Jones” I agree that she should have NEVER be allowed to leave that cell. Bond should have been higher. This woman was a murderer. Whtfd needs to unstuff themselves and get tougher.

  14. You’ve gotten the most impressive internet websites.
